🛗 Petts Wood Station Accessibility Upgrade

Petts Wood Station in south east London took a major step forward, with a new accessibility upgrade that will transform how passengers move through the station. For the first time since it opened, the station will become fully step free, making rail travel easier and more inclusive for everyone.

The project completed the installation of four new lifts, providing step free access between street level and both platforms. This will significantly improve journeys for passengers with reduced mobility, parents with prams, cyclists, and anyone carrying heavy luggage, removing long standing barriers at the station.

Delivered as part of Network Rail’s wider commitment to improving accessibility across the rail network, the works at Petts Wood represent an important investment in local infrastructure. Once complete, the station will better serve the community, supporting safer, more convenient and more independent travel for thousands of passengers every year.
