St Erth Station Transformation – Another Major Milestone

The 50-tonne footbridge deck was successfully lifted into position using a 1,000-tonne crane, carefully installed over the railway from the front of the station.
This massive lift marks the second major stage in the upgrade works.
Soon after, the original listed footbridge was gently lifted out, ready to be restored and relocated to Cranmore Station on the East Somerset heritage railway. A great way to preserve a piece of history!
All of this progress has been made without disrupting passengers, thanks to weekend night shifts carried out by Network Rail - BAM UK - Loca Construction
